Play Golf in Bodrum

Keen golfers are beginning to look to Bodrum in Turkey for the opportunity to play golf on the newest course on the Turkish Riviera, a region of Turkey known for it's natural beauty, cosmopolitan population and fabulous resorts. The golfing area has been designated in the Lake Tuzla region, a major stopping-off point for migratory birds such as the pelican and flamingo which arrive in their 1000's between October and April each year. This coincides with the optimum time for enjoying golf in Bodrum so you will be able to enjoy wonderful wildlife in addition to some great golf.

Vita Park Golf Resort

Amid the splendor of an extraordinary natural environment, two championship golf courses have been carved, incorporating a sweeping interlace of fairways, preserve areas, wetlands, olive trees, tall protected pines and lakes. Dr. Gürol Büyük and his son Erol Büyük have masterfully created a design that takes into consideration the character of the land and the sensitivity of its ecosystem. The Vita Park Golf Resort is a unique two 18-hole golf facility.

vitapark_june08_14Owner and designer Gürol Büyük - his surname Turkish for “big” - is fulfilling his dream of over 15 years brought golf to the Bodrum  at the end of 2008.

The new Milas-71 golf course (see more info below) opened in late 2008 bringing the reality of golf to Bodrum. Initially available as a 9-hole pay&play course, the Milas-71 now has 12 fully playable holes - with the remaining 6 opening shortly, is a links style golf course with water and bunker features. This course can be clearly seen from the Flamingo Country Club resort on the other side of the lake. Many of the apartments on Flamingo and Turquouse have stunning views of the lake area and the golf course beyond.

With these new courses, plus the new Golfplan project in Gulluk, Bodrum is a new Turkish golf destination to reckon with.

The Milas par-7l,
5,850 meters course is scheduled to open at the end of 2006 and offers the charm and challenge of an Old World course with a feel that is reminiscent of traditional Scottish links. The Milas course is born out of a deep love and respect for the game, a shared passion for excellence and a desire to play under the finest possible conditions.

To complete that experience, 6 hectares have been dedicated to a Golf Academy, which features unrivaled practice and training conditions, facilities, and services, a wide double-ended practise range, including numerous target greens and bunkers and several short game areas and putting greens. Many shots found on the golf course can be practised here at the Golf Academy, which also features state-of-the-art instructional technology and V1 video equipment for total swing analysis and game improvement. This system allows members to monitor their progress from week to week.

Halikarnas par-71
The Halikarnas par-71, 6,480 meters course with its own private driving range, its lush native landscaping and flowing creeks and waterfalls tantalize golfers’ senses, while designed with a dramatic Arizona golf course look because of its topographic features. Classic-style bunkering with bold flashes of native white sand will complement the occasional stacked sod wall edges.

The Halikarnas course is expected to be a “players club” with a very challenging layout from the tournament tees- a world- class championship golf course suitable for prestigious national and international events. The finishing 18th—hole, 425 meters, surrounded by a natural amphitheater with its protected pine trees, dramatic waterfalls, and elevated 32 meters green from the back tee crowns the Halikarnas championship golf course.

Vita Park lies close to Tuzla Bay, a unique wetland habitat for a number of rare bird species and flamingoes. The resort encompasses a total area of one and a half million square meters, including the 5795-metre course, clubhouse and the Mike Adams Golf Academy. It is the only golf facility in Turkey to have achieved ISO 14001 accreditation by TürkAK and the German DAR (Deutscher Akkreditierungs Rat).

The Academy will offer instruction by Mike Adams, the worlds most sought after golf instructor, two or three times a year. This is the second time Mike Adams will teach in Vita Park Golf Resort. An instructor at the Florida Golf Academy, Mike rates among the 50 best golf instructors worldwide. He has written 11 golf books including Golf Magazine’s top rated book, ‘The Laws of the Golf Swing’.

The Academy teaches players at all levels, from beginners to tournament players. Among Mike’s many students are a number of Hollywood celebrities and past Presidents. Known as the ‘Swing Doctor’, Mike enables each player to adjust their swing to his or her physical capabilities thereby enhancing their performance and enjoyment of the game. Golf training with Mike Adams is scheduled in blocks of two or three days each for groups of six to twelve students. On March 30th - April 5th, players will have the opportunity to take private lessons with Mike.

Geoffroy de Dieudonné, one of Mike Adams’ top students and himself a recognised instructor will be at Vita Park throughout the year, providing golf instruction in English and French. For training and registration contact:
